21 Oct The Future of Travel
From horse and cart to spaceships: Disruption in the travel industry and what it means for us.
More than ever, it’s not only the way we travel which has evolved, but the way we think about travel.
Travel in and of itself is a huge disruptor, leading to globalisation and urbanisation, and everything that follows; but as a practical matter, there are still many points of friction associated with travel – think airport check-in and immigration – which digital technologies will play a huge part in solving.
Technology, in particular mobile and wireless technology, has completely changed the travel ecosystem.
Whilst digital technologies are creating chaos and disruption for longstanding industry participants, they have the potential to open up a world of opportunity, convenience and efficiencies for individual travelers.
Of course, with new technologies come new legal risks, issues and problems.
